My beloved High School for the Performing & Visual Arts (HSPVA) decided to do The Wiz for their Black History Month show this year; so, to fundraise for our young Black creatives, the HSPVA Black Alumni Network (BAN) decided to host a special pre-show reception called The Wiz Emerald City Experience. When HSPVA did The Wiz seven years ago in 2015, the Scarecrow was played by Olly Sholotan (Theatre ’15), the guy who currently plays Carlton on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot.
